DocuSign pricing in 2026, plan by plan
DocuSign's cheapest plan is Personal: $11 a month on a one-year commitment, which is $132 a year for 5 envelopes a month. Every DocuSign number on this page comes from DocuSign's own pages, linked where we use them.
EsigIt is our product. It charges $1.99 per signed document with no plan. We compete with DocuSign, so we show our sources and say where DocuSign is the better buy.

Is DocuSign's monthly price really monthly?
No. EsigIt read the label on October 15, 2026: DocuSign's listed prices are yearly commitments paid monthly. The pricing page says "Annual, billed monthly", and under Personal it says the plan is an annual commitment of $132.
So "$11 a month" is a 12-month commitment paid in 12 pieces. Whether you get money back for quitting early depends on DocuSign's refund policy. Surprise renewals come up again and again in DocuSign's Trustpilot reviews.
EsigIt has no commitment to break. A month you send nothing costs $0.
What does DocuSign cost at 1, 2, 5 or 10 documents a month?
EsigIt worked it out from DocuSign's October 15, 2026 prices: one user, the cheapest plan that covers the volume, on DocuSign's yearly commitment. At 1 a month, DocuSign Personal works out to $11.00 per document.
| Documents a month | DocuSign plan you'd need | DocuSign per year | DocuSign per document | EsigIt per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Personal | $132.00 | $11.00 | $23.88 |
| 2 | Personal | $132.00 | $5.50 | $47.76 |
| 5 | Personal (its cap) | $132.00 | $2.20 | $119.40 |
| 10 | Standard, plus 20 envelopes over its 100 | $360.00 plus overage | $3.00 plus overage | $238.80 |
EsigIt costs less than DocuSign Personal at every volume Personal allows. At Personal's cap of 5 a month, EsigIt is $119.40 a year against $132.
Skip DocuSign's yearly commitment and Personal is $15 a month, or $180 a year. Above 5 a month you need Standard, and DocuSign doesn't publish the rate it charges past 100 envelopes a year. Try your own number in the EsigIt pricing calculator.
What does DocuSign count as an envelope?
Unlike EsigIt, DocuSign counts an envelope when you send it, per its pricing page on October 15, 2026. A document your client never signs still uses one of Personal's 5 a month.
EsigIt counts only finished documents. Send 3, get 2 signed, and you pay $3.98.
Is DocuSign free?
No. EsigIt found no free sending plan on DocuSign's eSignature pricing page on October 15, 2026. The cheapest way to send is Personal at $132 a year.
DocuSign's support center does describe downgrading an account to Free, but the pricing page doesn't say what a free account can send. If free is what you need, BoldSign's free plan covers 25 envelopes a month and OpenSign's free plan says unlimited. Our free DocuSign alternatives page lists the limits of each.
What do DocuSign's add-ons cost?
EsigIt found two paid DocuSign add-ons on October 15, 2026: SMS delivery from $0.36 a message and ID verification from $2.40 an attempt. Both are only for Standard and Business Pro.
Envelopes past your allowance are billed "Pay-As-You-Go", and the page doesn't state that rate. You can also pre-buy extra envelopes. Ask DocuSign for the number before you go over.
How much is DocuSign for real estate agents?
EsigIt's October 15, 2026 check of DocuSign's real estate pricing page found plans from $10 to $25 a month on yearly billing. The REALTORS® plan is for NAR members only.
| Plan | Price shown | Billed yearly | Envelopes | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Real Estate Starter | $10 a month | $120 | 5 a month | 1 |
| Real Estate | $25 a month per user | $300 | 100 per user per year | 1 to 5 |
| REALTORS® (NAR members) | $20 a month per user | $240 | Unlimited, under a reasonable-use policy | 1 to 5 |
If you're a NAR member sending more than 10 documents a month, the REALTORS® plan costs less than EsigIt. At 10 a month they're $1.20 apart: $240 against EsigIt's $238.80. Below that, EsigIt is cheaper. The full breakdown for agents is on our e-sign for realtors page.
How do you cancel a DocuSign subscription?
DocuSign, unlike EsigIt, has a renewal to stop. Its support guide, dated September 28, 2026, splits cancelling into four jobs: stop the renewal, downgrade, close the account, or ask for a refund. Read it before you click anything: Cancel, downgrade, or close your Docusign account.
- Check the effective date. DocuSign says a plan change can take effect at the renewal date, not the day you click.
- Download your signed documents first. Closing an account can remove access to them.
- Refunds follow DocuSign's refund policy. Eligible online buyers see their refund when they close or downgrade online. Plans bought through a sales rep are excluded.
- Bought it in the Apple or Google Play app? Cancel there, not on the website.
EsigIt has no subscription, so there's nothing to cancel. If you stop sending, you stop paying.
When is DocuSign worth paying for?
DocuSign beats EsigIt in 2026 when you need one of 6 things EsigIt doesn't have. That list is real.
- A team sharing templates and a signing history.
- Bulk send, web forms or collecting payment at signing (Business Pro).
- SMS delivery or ID verification for signers.
- Salesforce or single sign-on (Enhanced).
- A vendor with SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 reports and ISO 27001 certification for your security review.
- More than 10 real estate documents a month as a NAR member.
If none of that is you, you're paying $132 a year for a feature list you won't open.
What costs less than DocuSign?
EsigIt costs less than DocuSign Personal for anyone sending 5 or fewer documents a month in 2026: $1.99 each, charged when they're signed. Free plans cost less still, with caps.
BoldSign's free plan covers 25 envelopes a month. SignWell Light is $10 a month billed yearly with no document cap. GoodSign is $1.50 a document, counted when you send. Each one, with its limits and sources, is on our DocuSign alternatives page.
